I just wanna welcome you if you're here for the first time or the second time, we really, really welcome a part of us.

And I promise I'll try not to chase you away.

I'll do the best I can to bless you and give you God's word.

Father, I thank you, Lord, for my brother, for each and every 1 of us here this morning.

I Thank you that our path is like the light of dawn is shining brighter to the full day.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for ministering your precious word to us.

And we're gonna leave here different than we came.

I don't know about you, but I like being changed from glory to glory.

You know, and I know you feel the same way, I was told that I have to do a joke.

So it sort of has something to do with the subject of this message today.

Scientists have conducted blood tests on a frog to extract DNA and confirm its identity.

They discovered it was 33 or 30% Spanish, 9% British, and a tad Pole.

And we're talking about, and I can't believe you people actually laughed on that, but that's very encouraging.

That gives me hope for the future but you know I've been going to the same I'm just gonna start out with a little introduction here stories I've been going to the same bank for 12 years now fifth third and every week every time I go to Fifth Third Bank, it's always the same thing.

I come walking in, you're like, It's good to see you again.

Every single time, I'm like, you think maybe I'm not the same person I was the last 100 times I've come here.

They're making sure that we do what we're instructed to do.

She wanted to see my ID and I pulled it out and I said really this this license does not really represent my actual true good looks.

There was some sort of a mistake when they took the picture of me here.

She looked at it and she started laughing and she couldn't stop laughing.

I said, is it because of how ugly the picture looks or how good I look?

But anyway, we're talking about ID, identification.

We're talking about, you know, when I was young in the late 60s and early 70s, people were trying to find themselves, find out who they were.

Everybody was going to find out, I got to find out who I am, man.

And then every generation is a little different.

Now, when I was in high school, I was not a jock.

I ran my first marathon when I was 16 and I ran a lot of 100 mile weeks as a sophomore, junior, and senior in high school and ran a lot of half marathons, 10Ks, etc.

So we considered, our little group, we considered ourselves not jocks.

And so that indicated that we were athletes.

So of course, we didn't look like jocks anyway.

I got up to a whopping 140 pounds by the time I was a senior.

But I had to wear these special shoes that they're called the Nike LD 1000s.

Now probably none of you have ever seen them before, maybe so.

They identified me immediately as a distance runner.

And so we were all trying to identify, you know in high school, the 200, 300, 400.

Trying to identify with something, someone.

And I remember this last fall, I went with a friend of mine, we went bicycle riding in the mountains.

We had a great time and we went up Independence Pass.

It's about a 4,000 foot climb, just outside of Aspen.

It goes up to about 12,000 feet altitude.

And we just had a great time, wonderful, wonderful 5 days riding in the mountains, in the beauty.

And while we're in town, we're noticing everybody.

Well, 1 thing about that place is, you can't just be a millionaire and get by okay.

You gotta, I mean, you gotta have many millions to live there, to have a place.

We're walking down the sidewalk and looking at people and just seeing how they act.

Anybody know how much a Gucci purse costs?

They like to you know and she wasn't just carrying it like this, she was carrying it like this.

You know, it's not like I normally check out everybody's purse, you know?

But it was impossible for me to miss the purse the way she was carrying it.

And you know, as Christians, we have a total and complete different identity.

And as such, we have a whole different way of living, a whole different set of rules, a whole different set of principles, a whole different level of living because we have a different identity.

And the devil would want us to act like somebody who we're not because we've been translated out of the kingdom of Satan, out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God's dear Son.

Some of us are more creatures than others of us.

And so today we're going to talk about our identity in the name.

And you know, as normal people, a lot of times we take up our identity in our jobs.

How many, especially men, how many men have just sort of tended to, you know, I have a certain, it's just almost subconscious, my identity is in my job.

And then if you lose that job, what happens?

You have gone through some weaknesses in your life and you may have been had a struggle with alcoholism and so you identify as an alcoholic maybe a recovering alcoholic but you identify as an alcoholic but there's a higher and a more powerful identity that supersedes all these things And it's the identity that is more real than any identity that we can take upon ourselves in this world, amen?

So Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12, verse 2, he said, I knew a man in Christ.

I am seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

I'll never forget the first time I heard Dad Hagin say something.

And I knew it was scriptural, but the way he said it, he said it so matter of fact, he said, yeah, Jesus is my elder brother.

And when he said that, he just said it so matter of fact And we know he's the firstborn of many brethren, is he not?

We know that we're heirs to the throne and joint heirs with Jesus Christ.

We know that the Father is our heavenly Father and he's also Jesus' Father.

We know we've been adopted into the family.

We know that we are now part of the kingdom of God and the family of God.

This is a family deal going on here now, amen?

Especially the kingdom of God family, God's family.

And so we are in Christ and we have a whole new identity.

See, who you are is who you identify with.

And I wanna talk briefly about those 2 men.

Let's start with 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verse 21 and 22.

For since by man came death by man came also the resurrection from the dead.

Verse 22, for as in Adam all die, even so in Christ.

You should hear a separation between 2 men.

So thankfully, if you're saved, you're in Christ.

Even so, it says, in Christ shall all be made a lot.

Because eternal life is not just quantity, it's a quality, amen?

And we can benefit from that, we are benefiting from it right now.

And so we're full of God's life and we identify with Christ.

And if you're in Christ, you're identified with Christ.

And the spirit, You've been given the legal right to walk around with his ID and use his name We used to all be an Adam now.

We are all believers in Christ Paul further states in 1st Corinthians 15 45.

He says this he says the first man Adam was made a living soul The last Adam was made a quickening or life-giving spirit.

So here the Bible talks about the 2 Adams.

In fact, in Romans 5.18, it says, therefore, as by the offense of 1, judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of 1, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

So once again, we've got the offense of Satan and then we've got the free gift of Jesus that came from Jesus.

So this is why I said in 1 respect that the Bible is all about 2 men, the first Adam and the last Adam, and there are only 2 types of people, those in the last Adam.

Now what's supposed to happen is our identification, our license, is supposed to look like how we look, exactly how we look.

It's supposed to prove that we are who we are.

When I was a little kid even, we had to, in order to sign up for baseball league as a little kid, what do we have to do in order to sign up?

We had to give them a copy of our birth certificate to prove that we had been born.

And so we have been placed and we are in Christ, not with the first Adam.

I want to share some thoughts about our identity, how important it is.

...After 19, verse 13 through 16, it illustrates this extremely clearly.

It said, Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.

And there were 7 sons of 1 Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leapt on them and overcame them and prevailed against them so that.

But here we see the difference between people that are identified with the first Adam and people that are identified with the second Adam.

See, when you're in the family of God and you're identified with Jesus, you've been given authority, a lot of authority.

And these guys, but these guys had no right to use the name because they were in Adam, not Christ.

We have been given a right to use the name, the name that is above every name.

Jesus, We have been given that name to use for the kingdom of God, amen, and to take authority over the devil, over all temptations, orcs, or religious standing, or history.

Always base your spiritual given power to resist Satan.

In fact, in many cases, God won't resist Satan for us.

I remember Dad Hagen shared that story once years ago and he had been he actually had a vision of Jesus and long story short Jesus said if you hadn't resisted the devil at that time I couldn't have done it for you.

And he says, no disrespect Lord, but I'm gonna need some verses on that 1.

And there's a few verses that he says Jesus gave him.

First Peter chapter 5 verse 8, 1 of them says this, and verse 9, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, has arisen.

Whom let God resist steadfast in the faith?

You see the first Adam, he had authority over the garden.

He backed out on that and he fell and Satan took that authority back.

Second Adam came, he broke that and he gave us back the authority that Adam had over this, in the realm of the spirit, over the devil, amen?

And so that's why we see in 1 Peter 5 it says, whom resists speaking of us, we are to resist steadfast in the faith.

Well, Ken, I need to hear in the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses.

Okay, James 4, verse 7, simply says, submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Now does it say God's gonna resist the devil for us?

She said, Ken, if you ever sense anything evil, or if you sense any fear, realize that you have power over that.

And you can use the name of Jesus over that.

When he sees you fight in Christ, you have been given authority.

You are a partaker of his divine nature, amen?

And you walk in a higher plane than the devil, amen?

Well, there's a third verse I wanna share with you on this subject.

Mark chapter 16, verse 17, and these signs shall follow them that believe.

So these 3 verses tend to indicate to us in no one's...

We have been given authority because we are in Christ.

You know, we've been taught, and I was taught, that God is sovereign.

And that the sovereignty of God is so extensive that really whatever will be, will be.

And if it's going to happen, God's going to do it for us.

And so, in fact, our prayer is the prayer of, Lord, if it be thy will.

And that's what I was taught when I was a kid.

In fact, I was even taught some of that when I was in Bible school, the first Bible school that I went to.

And God is all powerful, but he has delegated authority to us, amen?

That doesn't say here, when dealing with the devil, that we have to say, God, if it be your will, get rid of the devil for me.

No, it clearly says God has delegated that authority.

You know Jesus said all power in heaven and earth has been given unto me.

Wouldn't he say all he didn't say all power in heaven and earth has been given to me.

Therefore, I'm either going to do it or I'm not going to do it.

And so advancing the kingdom of God in the earth is not all up to God.

We are his feet, we are his hands, we are his mouth.

Love God with all your heart and love on other people.

Somebody gets mad at me, instead I can love them and blow their mind.

Because I'm in Christ, and His nature is in me, and I identify with Him, and I can act like Him, and He's my older brother, and I'm part of the family, and I'm accepted in the beloved, and I'm seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus amen and so are you hallelujah hallelujah somebody said well you just preach a positive gospel Ken.

And I always will because the gospel is good news, amen?

And I love just delving into the Word and finding out what that good message is and finding out who I am in Christ and finding out my God-given rights and privilege.

So I just love, I love preaching and thinking about and meditating on a positive gospel.

How can the word gospel be anything but positive?

Well, you say, well, you know, you're just into positive thinking.

The word of God is the authority of God, amen?

And I don't have any problem whatsoever saying and thinking the things that God, the same thing as.

And I just wanna be caught saying the same things God has and having the same thing as.

And I just want to be caught saying the same things God has and having the same things opinion that God has.

You know God is so good when he changes a person's destiny, he changes their name.

Jesus changed his name to Cephas or Peter.

And all these names were changed to something that meant something greater.

Because when you take upon yourself God's identity, It always becomes something greater.

And then in Acts 11, verse 26, the second part of that, and the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

And so they took upon themselves the names of Christians.

Christians, we're Christ people, we're Jesus people, amen?

We don't have to walk around with a Gucci purse.

You'll never see me carrying a Gucci purse, I promise you that.

We're content in what God has, and you know, the guy's got the same thing.

I mean, if you live in Aspen, you had better have at least a BMW, nothing wrong with a BMW.

But it's better if you have a Porsche 911 whale tail.

Something they want to present a certain identity.

We don't have to do anything other than exactly what we are.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, sons and daughters of the Most High God and Jesus is our elder brother older brother I got in a lot of tight spots when I was in high school and junior high.

How many of you guys know what I'm talking about?

If I only had an elder brother, do that 1 more time, I'm gonna talk to the big guy about you.

We do have an elder brother, and that's exactly what we can do.

We can talk to the big guy about our problems and about the things that are...

So does anybody know what the subject is today?

I think I've repeated it quite a few different ways amen so we're getting it we are identified with Christ we have a wonderful identity a God-given identity And with that identity, we have authority.

Names have been changed to new creatures in Christ.

We are in Christ, Our destiny has changed.

Our destinies are not connected to our race, our financial status, our accomplishments, our mistakes, or education.

Jakes, I think it was, who said, he said, "'You may have done what they said you did, but they don't know who you are.

Because who you are is not who they say you are.

In the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." How in the world can Paul say he's crucified with Christ?

He was a busy Pharisee when Jesus was crucified.

He probably wasn't anywhere near the cross when it happened.

Totally and completely identified with the whole thing about Christ being crucified.

About Christ being buried and put in the tomb.

Paul identified his whole process from death into life, going through that same process, and then after being resurrected, resurrected, resurrected, resurrected, identified and seated at the right hand of the Father.

And in Ephesians chapter 2, Paul said, So when we're in Christ, our old man that we identified with Adam with went through that whole same process, was crucified, was buried, and then our new man rose to new life and now we're seated in heavenly places in Christ as a new species of being that never existed before.

For living, new joy, new peace, new confidence in the future.
