In fact, let me tell you that on Thursday and Friday, the current Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan was also changed by them, according to which 12 subcommittees gave presentations on how all these things can be completed.

Look, here many of you must be doubting that what is this theater command after all?

I am saying again and again integrated theater command.

Look, if I tell you in simple words, then it is a unified command under which all the resources of army, navy and air force are pulled depending on the threat perception.

As I told you in simple example, suppose we have some danger from Pakistan, there are some issues at the border, problems, problems.

So now if you see in present, our Indian navy is doing different work, Our Air Force is doing different work Our Indian Army is doing different work Means they are working in their own silos So what is important here is that if we want to deal with any enemy Then we have to deal with that thing together See, I am not saying that it is not possible now, but there are many difficulties in it.

So here the theater command means that according to different threats, If we have a threat from China, then a different theater command is made for China in which all Indian Navy, Army and army will be involved in this and will be dealt with from China together.

It can be on a geographical basis, on the border basis, Pakistan, China, it can be like this.

Like it is different for land, it is different for marine, maritime theater command, it is different for that.

If you see in the whole world, many countries have already implemented it.

Like America, and in fact, our neighboring country China, has also implemented it.

But the question here is whether this theater command in India is a new idea.

Let me tell you that the Kargil war happened in 1999 After that many recommendations came about this That we should implement this in India In fact, let me tell you that the post of the Chief of Defense Staff was brought and our General Rawat Ji was the first Chief of Defense Staff his main task was to bring the theater command into existence and infact he had started the work here General Rawat Ji had given an appointment for the studies in different armed forces and he also said that in the end of 2020, the Air Defence Command will be established in India but what happens is that here already because of many factors because see it is not that easy because we are talking about Navy, Army, Air Force so can there be a harmony in all 3?

I will tell you an example you will remember that the government merged many PSU banks public sector banks now only by merging them so many issues arise will they be able to get mixed together or not will technology get mixed together or not many issues arise We are talking about Army, Air Force and Navy here.

So, due to this many factors, along with Covid-19 pandemic also came, due to which this was not implemented and then unfortunately you will remember in December 2021 General Bipin Rawat's helicopter got killed in a crash this was a very unfortunate situation anyway whatever it is now if you see the kind of activity that has started again, we can say that the integrated theater command will finally come into existence.

Because the notification given by the government here is very important.

Till now, if you see that our military personnel are governed according to different service acts.

Military personnel are governed by different service act like air force Air force act will be governed under 1950 Army act will be governed under 1950 Navy act will be governed under 1957 Army

So, suppose we are talking about the theatre command.

So, what will happen in the theatre command?

Suppose there is a head of Navy, if he is governing here, then everyone will have to listen to him.

Till now, those things were not happening.

But this act that has come into existence, because of this, the government has given the power directly.

Administrative power and disciplinary power, that whoever will be the head here, who will govern the army, navy, IF together, he will be able to do all these things in the right way.

This act has been brought by the government.

Because of that, they have been given power.

And also I will tell you this according to this act.

The command and control here means where will it be?

For example, if we want to deal with Pakistan then where will be its control center for that also everything is given in this like if I tell you then how many theater commands will be there in the country I will tell you, see the first plan that is going on right now 2 adversary specific integrated theater commands are going to happen first will be in the northern border with China and its command center will be in Lucknow like here we are seeing that from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh You know that the border with China is spread all over more than 3000 km So its control center is going to be in Lucknow through which we will be able to control the entire China border Then according to that, to deal with Pakistan their control center is going to be in Jaipur.

From Gujarat border to Jammu Kashmir it will be controlled from Jaipur.

So these 2 theater commands are going to be 1 for Pakistan and 1 for China.

And the third command will be basically maritime theater command and it will be in the Karawar of Karnataka because of which we can handle the coastal areas in a proper way and also can monitor the entire Indian Ocean so for this Maritime Theatre Command will be made in Karnataka.

Then, let me tell you now currently if you see already 2 unified commands exist but they are not very prominent.

1 is for your Andaman Nicobar you see below here for Andaman Nicobar, a separate command has already been made here integrated command.

Then the second is for nuclear arsenal in India, the nuclear power that we have, how to govern it, how to handle it for that already strategic forces command to handle this is made to handle nuclear in a proper way and this was made in 2001 and 2003 after the Kargil conflict but that is at a different level here we are talking about other ways of dealing with different enemies then here is the question that what is the need of the car why India needs it see it is a simple thing in today's world, you have to be cost effective in that.

Technology has started to be used at a much higher level than manpower.

So what happens is, suppose if I tell you that the army also has its own helicopter and our Indian Air Force also has a lot of helicopters.

So suppose the Army and Indian Air Force will work together, then suppose Army needs 5 helicopters, Indian Air Force needs 10.

So if both of them work together, then instead of 15, we can only have 12 helicopters, without that much need, then it can be cost effective, means we can integrate.

Now if you see in present, here 17 single service command are available, 7 in army, 7 in Indian Air Force and 3 in Navy but now by integrating all these your 4 or 5 commands will be kept close because of which the synergy in planning, logistics, operations can be done in different ways in different things then see what is the benefit, I will tell you China China if you see their army strength is around 2 million and what they did in 2016 they divided it into 5 theatre commands and for example if you see China's western command it is completely border with India more than 3000 km as I told you from Arunachal to Ladakh So China has made a different theatre command for it But if we talk about India India has 4 army and 3 Indian Air Force command for China So we don't have to disintegrate and work together And that's why India is going to make a different theatre command for China Then I will tell you 1 more interesting thing recently news came that because India doesn't have any common defense station then it is possible that maybe the first tri-service common defense station in Mumbai will be built here.

Again, the same thing will happen here that Army, Navy, Indian Air Force, all of their logistics, infrastructure, repair, maintenance, all can be done at the same place.

If you look at Mumbai, the biggest strength in Mumbai is that of Navy.

So in a way, Navy can control the other services here.

Navy Indian Navy Indian Air Force or Indian Army all these will come under it.
