Here we also talked about Nadi, Ida and Pingala Nadi.

Can you throw some light on these Ida and Pingala Nadis please?

As we literally talked about sun and the moon in celebrations.

It's a very basic information everybody should know or every person who is following yoga should know this that there's always 2 sides of your body.

1 is the left, left is the lunar side and the right is your sun side also.

Okay so the lunar side is what we call is the Ida and the right side is the Pingala.

Left is the Ida to go with your moon energy, the right is the Pingala which is your sun energy.

There are particular characteristics for your sun energy.

Sun energy is for active energy, a mode of masculinity into your body and also it will represent, what you can say, highly active masculinity to the right side of your body.

The lunar 1 is more of the emotions, more of the pentine energy.

So there's also a way to check which side of your body is highly activated.

So basically there's a test or an assessment to kind of know which side you are dominant in or which side is highly activated.

The left is the Ida Moon energy and the right pingali nadi sun energy.

Would you like to demonstrate a test or assessment to kind of know which side you're highly activated?

Basically, we get to know about your energy channels, which energy channel is highly activated.

Like for example, if my right nostril is fully open, I am able to feel normally in and out from my right nostril, really and excited.

If you close your left nostril and there is a free flow between the right then you would know that that's highly activated.

And same is with the left side if it is fully open then that is normally activated.

should I be worried or concerned if 1 side is highly activated than the other?

Not actually because as per the day time like the morning time or especially in the afternoon time definitely because of the climate there is heat your right side will be automatically

During the day, the right side is sent to be more active than the left side.

During the night, again your left side will be activated.

And as I said, if you once you've done the test or assessment if you know how to do it is there a breathing pattern or a technique that I can practice to kind of balance these energies?

The best practice is Satish Anulom Vilom practice.

I mean, you close the left, you breathe in through your right and then let go of the...

You breathe out through your left while you close the right.

So Anulom Vilom is nothing but alternate nostril breathing.

Ensure the inhale and exhalation is equal.

The time duration of inhalation and exhalation is equal.

Basically, I would actually would like to kind of like Norman spend some time of the assessment if you don't mind kind of To know a certain procedure or assessment to know which side I'm curiously I'm curious and I'm sure the viewers also be curious to know which side is highly activated Which side is activated more than the other is there could you?

Spend some time and ensure the assessment or a test to know this

just completely concentrate on your breathing and see which side of the nostril is easily like

there's more free flow coming in from 1 or the other.

It's always 1 side is highly 1 side is activated than the other during the day and you have a certain characteristics basically.

It will be also balanced if you have just done your workout.

you will sync your breathing with your body activities.

These patterns change during the day, you know, I mean, you could be dealing with a stressful situation and all these patterns will change.

If you are highly stressful or you have anxiety, then your right side will be highly active.

If you're depressed, you don't know what to do, you're just completely confused, your left side will be active.

That's why sometimes you see people, if they get a lot of depression, they tend to sleep.

They tend to sleep, they're slowing down basically, they're very slow.

And the minute you're anxiety or high in energy no no I wouldn't say high energy but when you're anxious and there's an anxiety kicked in you're always hyperactive basically so it's it's good to balance it out the Ida and Pingali Nadi it's it's good to balance basically Normally you have your certain characteristics and plus how your day was like and then a lot of things going through so you can balance it out through your alternate nostril breathing is the best practice.

We can also talk about not only balancing both the sides of the body or the nadis, we can also try to completely focus on 1 nadi at 1 time.

So there is a breathing practice called Surya Veda Pranayama.

Surya Veda Pranayama we do that is basically when you do Anandam Vihara.

You keep your left nostril closed and only engage fully and exhale from the right.

Pranayama and anything that will any specific that will help with?

Yes, if you are having depression, if you are having low blood pressure, then we just slightly activate your body.

Basically to get more energy and I mean you want to kind of boost your energy levels, then close your left and then the only breathing through your right and then breathe out through your right nostril only that's called Surya Veda Surya Veda Pranayama.

Is there anything that could calm you down?

So same thing again viewers and I mean if you are someone who wants a bit of boost of energy the breathing techniques will help.

So Surya Beda Pranayama is the 1 you would close your left and then only breathe in through your right and then breathe out through your right.

Same as you want to calm down and then you want to relax and especially we talked about, especially before bed and then you want to reduce your anxiety, you reduce your hyperactiveness, that's when the Chandra Beda Pranayama comes in very handy.

So you would use, you would close the right nostril, so you'd close the right nostril and do the only left in and left out.

So that's called left nostril breathing and Chandra Veda Pranayama.

And okay, when not to perform yoga and not to do in yoga.

Yes, there are certain places or certain conditions when you shouldn't perform yoga.

You are not well, you have temperature fever or you just have weakness.

I mean There are some techniques that you can do if you feel comfortable, do some pranayama practices but relax your body down.

But if you have stomach upset, it's better not to perform.

It's better to take a day off and 2, kind of Relax that stillness and then you're in you're not really 100% yourself Try not to get in the class anything or any other conditions that you shouldn't

be For females if they are on menstruation, they are on their period It's better not to perform highly active yoga.

There are passive yoga types that they can perform in case they have basically they go through the mood swings, they have period cramps.

To release the period cramps also there are some

There are certain techniques and practices.

Women tend to experience different levels of pain and some women, like we've been in the gym and in practicing workouts, some women don't feel it at all.

Some women, like they're uncomfortable for the 3 and 4 days, they're a lot of discomfort and pain.

Is there a certain process and procedure that can help them ease this in those menstruation type?

So any yoga poses that we help them to release the muscles or the release the hip area or the lower abdomen area.

So for example is the Bhadrakonasana or the Bhadrakula position is there, pigeon position is there or the variations of the pigeon position is there, Sphinx pose is there, happy baby pose is there.

1 most common pose that might help our women viewers during the menstruation.

Because that's the time they don't want to do a lot of complicated asanas, they're low on energy mentally and physically.

Easy to perform, which will help them to kind of ease that process.

Right, easy, the seated position is the butterfly position.

Yes, the Bandhokona asana, we call that in the Sanskrit.

Okay, few basic and yet mandatory things to keep in mind when I want to attend the yoga class.

Importantly, I would say keep a tissue paper with you, some tissue because when you do pranayama practice you would definitely sneeze, you are literally because pranayama helps you to cleanse your nostrils so it's okay you get sneezing and all.

A lot of demand on the respiratory system, nostrils Basically you breathe in a very slow, long, slow, deep breaths.

Apart from that, make sure you clean your eyes, nostrils, your face before attending the yoga class.

It not only helps you to feel a little depressed, but also hygiene that will get you completely awareness about like what you're doing.

I mean don't sit in the class when you're completely sleepy.

Another part is if you are early to the session, Do some yoga practice or do some stretches or you just sit straight and try to meditate on looking at or gazing at certain point.

That is again important thing instead of just relaxing yourself down.
