And I say back for all my repeat listeners, obviously if you're a new listener, the welcome is just welcome.

Because I want you, I'm asking the question because I want you to remember what it is that you want.

Let's, it's okay if you fell off, it's okay if you paused, it's okay if you haven't started yet.

And I feel like that kind of ties into what I want to talk about today is about letting life be good.

You know, we, we have these goals and aspirations and we're not perfect.

We don't always do what we're supposed to do.

We don't always go with the plan and we beat ourselves up over it.

And sometimes we are not on target because something else came in, something else stepped in, something took our attention away.

Sometimes it's just something else to be focused on.

I think I talked about Sarah Jakes and her sermon before where she was talking about God will give you a new passion for a new thing.

And I'm experiencing that, of course, when it comes to writing, you know, I went back to school and I'm like oh my god is this my new passion it's not that I'm not passionate about writing anymore it's not that I don't love writing anymore but it is not front and center right now and I had a time in my life where I left corporate I focused on being an author and I was able to produce quite a few books in the time that I was doing it independently and then I did a couple of books under a publisher and that was my time for that and I needed that.

I wanted it for so long so bad and I pursued it and I got it I did it and I feel like it's going to look different for me going forward.

I don't know if it's gonna look different for readers because I feel like I'm still gonna produce books whenever I finish 1.

But I feel like, you know, the way that my life is set up, it's starting to look different.

And rather than force things to be what they always were for me, I feel like my life would be a lot less stressful if I watch the pattern in which my life is turning and sort of leaned into it.

Let me lean into the pattern because life is getting really, really good for me.

Not that I don't have the responsibilities, not like, you know, I don't have to work part full time to to get my money to pay these bills.

And it's very different from the career that I have on a day-to-day basis and I went back to school and seemingly going back to school and studying forensic sciences is somewhat different from all the other focuses in my life.

And so now I gotta, you know, give my focus to that.

It's a lot, but life is really, really good for me right now.

5 years ago when I was dreaming of, I just want to live the life that I enjoy.

I just want to live the life that I enjoy.

I just want to live the life that I want.

I don't want to be disgruntled when I get up and go to work every day.

I have an everyday job that I absolutely love.

I was working for a very toxic company and stressed all the time for no reason.

It just was like, I just don't understand.

It was the friction because I was doing something and working with people that went against what I wanted for my life.

And As much as I say what I want for my life, the universe presents opportunities, and the opportunities for me to get the life that I want don't always look like what I thought it would look like.

It's actually better than what I had imagined.

And sometimes we don't lean into that because we think we're supposed to climb the success ladder and get all these accolades and get all these titles and get all this money because that's what our parents expected of us.

That's, you know, we set the bar sometimes based upon social media, what we see outside of ourselves, rather than based in a bar on you, yourself.

What is it that you want and what would make you happy and create a scale based upon that.

And know why you, you know, there's nothing wrong with getting titles and growing in a professional career.

There's nothing wrong with buying a house, buying a car, you know, wanting to get married.

Know why you want it and make sure that that why is in line with your value system.

You know, do you value that or is that something that you just want to attain and you just want to drop it or whatever because all these things that you want to attain if you want to buy a house, you want to, you know, buy a luxury car, you want to get married, you want to have children, you know, none of these things are things that you can, you know, just drop at the, well, that you should drop at the drop of a dime.

You know, these are things that have to be cultivated, maintained, nurtured over time.

And then when life starts to get good in an area that you didn't think it would, or you been hoping, wishing, praying, and you know, suddenly the door seemed to open up.

And when I say that, listen, I am not preaching.

You know, I have a situation in my life that my girlfriend said to me the other day, you manifested that.

And I know I spoke it and I know I talked to God about it.

It's still very scary for me to admit that is here and this is what I prayed for because I'm so afraid to be wrong.

I'm so afraid to be like, well, let's, you know, what if in 6 months this is not that, but right now it is.

Right now it's fulfilling everything that I talk to God about that I wanted for myself and it's even going beyond that.

I don't know how long it's going to last.

But I have to learn to live in it when it's good and be good.

Like I can't rob myself of the joy of now.

And that's what I really want to talk to you guys about like, let's not rob ourselves of the joy of now and I feel like I've been on this for a minute.

There's several messages that I've done several shows that I've done that are on this in this line of thinking, you know, things are still very unbelievable to me because I'm very aware and sometimes I wish I wasn't so aware right because then I would just go through the process and let it happen and then I could reflect and be like oh shoot but I'm extremely aware so as things are happening as things are becoming as things are materializing, I'm aware of what's happening.

You know, I changed my mindset and it sounds so cliche.

I changed my mindset and changed my life.

I like I'm almost in tears when I think about it of how simple it sounds.

It wasn't simple, but I worked and worked and worked at it because I knew before I even wanted a different life, I wanted a different mindset because the mindset that I had, it was too filled with, it was too trauma led.

It was just, it didn't promise anything to look forward to in terms of blossoming and growing.

And I wanted these things and these incredible things and I had to be honest with myself that I want these things.

When I attain these things, am I the person I want to be when I attain these things?

Am I the person who will maintain these things?

Am I the person who will appreciate these things?

Am I the person who will nurture them and take care of them and help them grow?

And am I the person who was going to be strong enough to let these things go when they've ran, run out of time?

Am I going to be the person to love my blessings enough?

Like I feel like my blessings are people.

My blessings come in the form of people very often.

But in my mind, like, am I going to love my blessings enough to let them breathe, let them grow, let them flourish, and then let them move on to whomever else they need to bless or let them go in the air or whatever when another blessing needs to come and swoop me.

Am I able to show my appreciation for my blessings?

Who I was or who I was forming to be wasn't in line with what I wanted.

And so I had to start focusing and just be like, okay, when I see myself attain these things, when I see myself get all these blessings, who am I?

You know, if I could have whatever in the world, what does my life look like?

You know, sometimes it's about the thing and it's a title or whatever.

And we forget to say, but what experience do I want to have?

When I started focusing on like, this is the experience I want to have.

The things that opened up for me, you know, for years I had talked about how intentional I was when I was like, you know what?

I want a circle of people who can lean on each other who don't really question like don't think that you know you using them because they know your heart so when you need help they're ready to help and when they need when they need help you ready to help when someone says they need something you may not have it but you may know somebody who do.

You may know what to say to pour into them.

They may know what to say to pour into you, you know, you lift each other.

Like I was like, I want just that energy that like, girl, you got this and I got you.

You know, I wanted that energy and it took some time because there was some people who, you know, I had to fade into the background.

I had a really good friend and she was really good to me and I feel like I was good to her, but there was some things that you know, she was upset about whatever and I had to eat that but at the same time like what I've realized in terms of our friendship is that she was very argumentative and no matter what I said, it had to be something of debate and I felt like she grew that in me.

So I started to become accustomed to debate and everything she said, but at the same time, I had to question myself as did she grow that in me or was that who I already was and that's why I attracted that kind of friend.

But either way, I was like, I don't like this.

I don't like constantly feeling like I gotta argue a point.

I don't like this feeling of I gotta defend myself or defend my choices.

You know, she didn't like the way that I dated and you know, I went through a period of serial dating but that's because like, listen, you got about 5 minutes.

If it ain't right, I know it ain't right and I ain't trying to hold on to what ain't right.

And I don't want you to hold on to me if I'm not right.

But anyway, I didn't like the experience that I was having.

So when that person started to distance myself from started to distance themselves from me and I'm clear that that person distance from me.

I couldn't chase it and be like, what was wrong?

And I had to let it go because I was like, I don't like the experience.

And I always say sometimes God and the universe will do things for you that you can't seem to come to doing for yourself even though you need to have it done and your mind is so focused on it your mind be tell listen you telepathically you be talking to the universe whether you think so or not So that's why it's so important for you to fix your mindset and be able to influence your own thoughts.

But like over time, you know, I built this circle.

And when I went to Belize for my birthday, It was so beautiful because I only knew 2 other people.

Okay, it was 6 of us who went and it's almost like each of us brought somebody.

I brought my best friend, another friend of mine brought her cousin, another friend of mine brought her childhood friends.

So I feel like each 1 of us probably only knew 1 or 2 people that was there.

We all chilled because we knew each other.

We knew what kind of people each other were and that's what we brought into we didn't just bring random people we would intentional like okay this is the kind of person who will just chill and not get into too much this and that and nobody had no problem with nobody you know I'm saying we all chill and some of us made new friends and you know we encouraged each other we talked each other through so you know we was high and drunk a lot of times so you know we had some heart to hearts because you know that I'll bring out that that heart.

But you know, we we have heart to heart and it was just really refreshing because you know, the stereotype of like, I don't have female friends because the females hate and not that I don't still experience female hate.

But for the most part, my circle is very supportive.

I'm very uplifting and very open to the experience that I'm trying to have and open to sharing the experience they're trying to have because we are all in alignment of I'm trying to have a good life.

That is the bottom line for everyone in my circle.

Not only am I trying to have a good life, I'm trying to enjoy life.

Good life doesn't necessarily equate to, you know, I'm a millionaire.

But the bottom line is I want to enjoy my experience here on earth.

And I feel like when we keep focusing on the experience, all that other stuff comes.

I'm telling you because it's been coming.

You know, I'm very blessed that, you know, my salary is more than what it was when I was at the toxic company.

So I was like, Hey, that's working out for me.

Now I got a ton of resources people who look out for me people who feel like they would do anything for me within that industry and trust me any entertainment industry can be extremely cutthroat and it can be very toxic in a lot of situations and very heartbreaking.

Somehow I have been able to attract the people who are good-hearted people who let me do for them and who do for me and know my heart and allow me to know theirs.

And I think that comes from because I changed my mindset to focus on the experience.

But now I'm moving forward and I have to move forward.

If you ever been on my TikTok, you know, put my little outfits together and they may not be the flyest to you, but I be feeling cute going to work.

You know, if you want to see me on TikTok, I'm who am I?

I enjoy coming home and asking my daughter like you know how was school.

You know I enjoy I enjoy the person that I'm dating.

Oh my God, so I enjoy, you know, I just, I enjoy my friends.

We don't necessarily have to talk every day for you to know that I love you or for me to know that you love me.

I'm in a great place and still have not reached and attained everything that I want.

Still growing, still learning, still trying to figure out my balance between school writing podcast and working full time being a single mom still figuring out the math of all of that and trying to figure you know I did a show a while back about something's got to give and I'm just like you know I'm figuring out which thing is given right now writing is the thing that gotta give it gotta give as I need time and space to do all these things and I want to let myself have a good life I want life to be life is showing me we good right now we good we good we're having a good experience don't be so addicted to trauma so addicted to struggle so addicted to you know I gotta I gotta I gotta did you forget when things start to come into fruition you can't forget to let it be good.

You know, stop looking for the other shoe to drop.

If it drop a drop, just be prepared to catch it.

You know, I had a girlfriend who came to visit from New York and you know, she talked about what she wanted in her life and stuff and we sat at the table it was a bunch of us like 4 of us and we just you know poured into her and just was like yo do that shit.

How we go is how we go and you know you have a network of people who's gonna be there for you whether you rise or fall.

We're going to catch you and pick you back up if you fall and we're going to cheer you on as you fly.

And the thing is like we talked about because she was like she didn't want to fail and I just was like you know it's a life decision about moving and getting a new job and stuff like that and I'm like what's failure?

Failure don't really exist unless you stop.

There's nothing but winning failure ain't nothing but part of the process to success.

It ain't nothing but a stepping stone to winning Like that's it.

It don't really exist as a destination unless you make it so.

It's not a destination unless you decide.

You know, like even when I think about my marriage and you know people, oh, you got a failed marriage because you got a divorce.

Well, you know, failure is not a destination.

I feel like I had a marriage that didn't work in the end.

And it's part of the process on my way to a happier life.

It's just, it was part of my process of me becoming who I need to become and my life becoming what it needed to become and I was on the process that happened on the process it's just something that happened you know I whatever it's nothing to soak over it's nothing to tear myself up over you know I go through things that I might have did wrong or that he did wrong whatever and that even that is just part of the process of how to go forward how to mature and you know how to treat who will ultimately be my life partner the best way that I can treat them the best way that I can appreciate them but to also have a standard and boundaries for myself to recognize when that's what I'm in and recognize when that's not what I'm in and to make decisions based upon it.

But you got to let yourself let life be good.

Talk to the universe, talk to yourself, talk to God, talk to the people around you.

I know it's like, oh, don't tell nobody what you're trying to, listen, if you got people around you that you can't tell what you're trying to do, I mean, relook at the people around you, change your circle, get into, You know, there's some people I ain't gonna hold you.

There's some people that I still keep in contact with that.

I'd be like, I can't tell this particular thing to but I could tell it to somebody else, but I'm not keeping it to myself because I find that the more I say things aloud the more they come into fruition.

The more I put my mind on these things aloud the more they materialize, the more they grow, the better they become.

So I'm like no I'm letting the universe know what I'm working towards.

And if somebody want to be an ambassador and work on my behalf and speak on my behalf and clear, you know, communicate my goals and rooms that I'm not in, I'm not going to rob myself of that.

And I'm not going to dwell on anything that happens that you know might cause me a need to recover because I'm so gifted in the art of recovery.

You ain't fitting to have me down nowhere for too long like that.

No, no, because that ain't the life I want.

You know, I'm saying dwelling in sadness, dwelling in defeat, dwelling in heartbreak and all of that.

And I have to constantly tell myself that it's not just, this is what I'm doing.

I know I constantly tell myself that because I got to train myself this is not how I was raised this is not the mindset that I was given as a child you know and I don't I didn't have this kind of guidance regular guidance I didn't have that you know the people who there's 1 person in my life who always chased after her goals who just spoken and I think I told my mom, that was my guidance.

But honestly, the guidance was by example.

It wasn't by, you know, pouring the mindset into me.

It wasn't by teaching me the steps, the rules.

And I honestly think because she didn't really know how to identify them.

She just did them as just part of who she was.

And, you know, it's me who documents it mentally and can categorize it because I'm a pattern thinker.

So I can categorize it and say this is what that is and that is what that is.

So I can put it together and sort of like a little manual so I can pass on to my daughter or so I can speak it on a podcast.

But either way, like, you know, once you figure that out, like, now I want to share it because I'm just like, listen, it don't have to be that hard.

Please don't struggle the way I did to try to figure it out.

Lean into the good, lean into the experience that you want to have create the experiences that you want to have because life is to be experienced and I want my experience to be absolutely amazing and right now it is so I want more of this I want more of this more more more more I'm greedy girl anyhow I'm gonna get off this old box.

But that's what I wanted to talk to you about.

I pray that life is good for you, that you are pursuing your goals, and that you are pursuing your happiness above all, please.

The happiness for you, your children, your family, your friends, like, you know, the experience is so much richer when that experience spills out into your community and the people around you and everybody's like, oh, this feels good.

I look at my daughter and how happy she is and how her life experience is so great.

Even when she has her moments of confusion, how she gets past them and we talk about that.
