Really fun show if you're looking to grow on YouTube, both Dee and Daniel are pros when it comes to all things video and all things YouTube.

And it's a fun show where they do sort of deep dives on individual channels to give you examples of how to think about things like, you know, maybe your thumbnails or your analytics.

And then we have Enhancer Livestreams, the last Tuesday of the month with Nick Nimmin, who also is a pro when it comes to all things video.

And then 1 thing we've been doing at the start of these so that we get to know a little bit more about you and you get to know a little bit more about us is a fun fact.

And the fun fact we had for tonight, given that the holidays are approaching is if you have a particular decoration that's your favorite for the holidays.

Maybe it's, you know, particular, give you celebrate Christmas, something in the tree.

If it's just maybe something you put in your yard in general, or just maybe, you know, I don't, the name is escaping me, but sometimes people have like those, like little set up houses and stuff that they set up around the-

Not a gingerbread house, but like the, someone will probably remind me in the comments of what it's called, but just like, their decorations is the word for it, but there's a more specific name.

But anyways, if you have a particular favorite 1, do you happen to have 1, Dan?

So this isn't actually 1 I have, but I always love when people have those huge blow-up toys.

I always find those, or toys is the wrong word.

It's the huge blow-up things in the yard that take up the entire yard.

For me personally, there's actually like this large Santa Claus thing that I built when I was maybe 11 with a friend of mine and we tried to sell it.

It's like at a craft fair, like my mom always does craft fairs and sells a bunch of Christmas stuff.

So we went there and we tried to sell this thing and nobody bought it.

Like we bring it out every year and it's like, it's, it's decently well-made.

For, For me, it's hard to pick a specific 1, but if I pick a category, it's probably the tree ornaments, just because it's funny thinking back to like, each 1 kind of has a story, like oftentimes in school, you had to like make 1 and stuff, so it's funny seeing the ones from like 20 years ago.

Mike says, any news on the app for creators?

So I mean, a lot of your, well, Mike, I'm sure you're familiar if you're asking this question, but it's a lot of you are probably familiar with, we recently shipped a iOS app for guests.

So if you have a guest joining the studio, they can join on iOS in an app, and It's just a better experience than having to join on Safari for iOS users on an iPhone or iPad, but it's only for guests.

So we are also working on a host version.

It's just something that's kind of in the works.

I'm enjoying the favorite holiday decorations in the chat.

Mona says, tried the editor, works fairly well.

Well, glad you had a chance to try it out.

Mona always would be eager to hear what in particular you'd like to see different with it or what could be improved.

Marianne says, are we able to round the corners of the camera slots in custom layouts?

So specifically with the custom layout feature, Marianne, it's not possible to round the corners, something that we might give more flexibility around that type of stuff in the future.

You probably are already aware of this, but if not, 1 workaround for this would be to basically create an overlay that matched your custom layout that was basically had transparent cutouts where your videos are.

And that would be 1 way to sort of, I've seen People do really cool stuff where it's like a star, maybe around a person or something like that.

A little bit more work, obviously, than just having the setting, but in the meantime, hopefully that's a good solution for you.

Yeah, the cool thing about that is like you said, Gage, you can make it super custom stuff.

So instead of just rounding the corners, you can have like all kinds of crazy shapes and stuff by just covering it with a really custom overlay.

But yeah, we might also just add the ability to round corners at some point, I'm not sure.

If it comes up a lot, I think we probably would just add it, but It doesn't tend to come up all that often.

Pete says, iOS app will be a game changer.

Looking forward to not using the YouTube app.

For anyone that has had a chance to use the guest version of the app.

We're constantly trying to get feedback on that as we work to improvement.

And then, like Dan said, we are working on a producer version as well.

Yeah, I'd also just be curious, Pete, like, obviously, you know, you're streaming from, like, the YouTube native iOS app directly on YouTube.

Just curious what things you didn't like about that if you don't want to use it again.

know, it doesn't have very many features, so I assume that's probably it, but if there's specific things as well, let me know.

I had a question here from, I think I'm pronouncing your name wrong, so forgive me.

How does the guest know they have the option to download the app?

So first of all, they could just happen to discover it in the store, but that's not a great way to find it.

So when they enter the studio, we've got this banner now that appears at the top, and I believe that's rolled out to everybody.

So anyone joining as a guest on iOS should see this banner right at the top where they can open it.

If you have local recordings on specifically, we like even more kind of aggressively prompt people to go to it just because Safari has more issues, I would say with local recordings, it's much better experience to just use the app.

So we're kind of prompting a bit more aggressively with local recordings.

And I think over time, we might just push more and more people to the app, but we do already have a banner for it to kind of push people there.

If you have a guest too, so say you're on a desktop device and you invite a guest and they joined on iOS and you notice they've kind of joined in the browser.

If you're talking to them and they said they joined in the browser, you could always just ask them if they could you it is a better experience for them to use the iOS app.

So you can just tell them, hey, go to the store and look up the StreamYard app and just use it.

And basically, once they install it, the next time they click a link to enter the studio, they'll go to the app instead of the browser.

Rochelle says, really like being able to pause recordings now.

Awesome, Rochelle, super happy to hear that.

That was actually 1 of the topics I wanted to get into tonight, which was, let me pull it up here, was specifically when it comes to recording, given that we have, for a long time, the number 1 request was that 1 specifically, like the ability to pause and restart the recording.

And Now that we've added that and also added local recordings, we're curious to get feedback on if you could wave a wand, what's the number 1 thing you'd like to see added to StreamYard when it comes specifically to recording?

I think there was Another question here from Rochelle.

Rochelle says, any new feature previews for Q1 FY24?

For example, any plan updates related to basic teleprompter features?

Generally, what we'll do is, right when something's out, is usually when we'll give you guys the overview video and walk through how it works.

We do have some really, really exciting stuff coming.

This month, actually, even throughout December, we're going to be shipping some pretty cool stuff.

We'll likely have the first part of that next week.

When it comes specifically to teleprompter features, don't have anything specific to share there, but it's always super helpful for us When you can share any details around it, like what are you currently using as an alternative to Teleprompter features?

What would you like to see in StreamRed from that?

All of that is always super useful for us.

Carla says, is the editing app going to come out for Android users?

So I might be misunderstanding the question, Carla.

But the only app we have right now is just a guest app for iOS, mostly.

Dan talked a bit about it before, to make sure that we support iOS as best as we possibly can.

Sorry, we had some trouble with Safari and its ability to handle all of the new video technology within StreamYard.

But it doesn't have editing functionality.

All of the editing stuff is within the browser itself.

But that is, what is the, I guess do you wanna talk a little bit Dan too about our plans when it comes to editing for folks on Android and iOS?

Yeah, so most of the editing features that we ship over time will go to Android and iOS users, unless there's something that's kind of like really hard and complex to use on mobile.

Like, you know, some of the stuff is just, there's a reason like Adobe, some of their advanced products are desktop products.

So, and we're not going anywhere near that level of complexity with editing, but even some of the basic editing features we add over time, you know, we'll probably add some of those to Android and iOS as well.

But some of them, maybe it would just be desktop focused.

I don't know if that fully answers the question, But also just in terms of an Android app for the studio, if that's more what you're referring to, that's also something we're interested in.

It's not necessarily coming out soon, but also partly just because the browser does work quite well for Android, unlike Safari, which does have a lot more just kind of inherent issues.

The the app is fully functional on iPads.

Yeah All right, let's see what else we had here.

Orlando says, will there be an option to have the ability for visual effects during a live stream?

So you do today, Orlando have quite a few options when it comes to visual effects.

So You do have the option to play video clips in general.

I bet those take over the entire screen, but you could consider it a visual effect.

The other popular 1 that folks use is often transparent GIFs as a way to do.

Do we still have that 1 up there, Dan, the puddles duck flying in and out?

So transparent GIFs are a fun way to do that.

1 feature request we've gotten a lot over the last year or so has been the ability to use things like .mov files and videos that have the sort of alpha effect in general, which is something that we'd love to support and that we're working on.

So that'll give you even more abilities there.

They do allow you to do stuff like the 1 I just showed, but yeah, pretty limited.

Sherry says, if I'm casting on both Facebook and YouTube, will my designated moderator still be able to automatically moderate the chat while using StreamYard?

Yeah, I'm just trying to think of the best way to answer.

So if your moderator is already on YouTube, let's say, then they can just keep moderating on YouTube exactly the same way they were And the fact that you're also on Facebook won't really matter for the YouTube chat, obviously.

So you could have somebody who's like literally on Facebook and YouTube and moderating both of those on those platforms themselves, or, And I don't know if this way you're already doing you can just have them in the stream yard studio as well And they can basically be blocking slash banning people from the stream yard chat that works Pretty much just the same as if they're on both platforms and the benefit is they don't have to have both platforms open they can just be in the studio and you don't have to add them to the screen or anything.

They could just be backstage, basically just make them a co-host on your account, like add them as a team member, as a co-host, then they can just do it all from the StreamYard studio.

So it's kind of up to you if you want to have them on your StreamYard account as a co-host and then they're in the studio with you, or if you just wanna have them on Facebook and YouTube, but either 1 kind of works.

Let's do a few more here, then I wanna make sure we have plenty of time for our guests tonight.

Creative Lady says, "'Number 1, request bulk delete of overlays.'" Absolutely, noted Creative Lady.

Not too difficult for us to add it as something that we want to support.

Albert says, I've been going to a variety of SY hosted streams with using the giveaway tool with LinkedIn, but I'm only seeing names from YouTube or Facebook, why doesn't LinkedIn seem to work?

So correct me if I'm wrong, Dan, but my best guess would be you're potentially watching shows where the majority of the viewership is on a particular platform.

Like for the town hall, for example, tons of our folks are watching on YouTube and Facebook.

So when you're seeing the wheel that percentage wise, that's where most of the names are, are coming from.

But LinkedIn, if, I mean, if you have a stream where only to LinkedIn or there's lots of viewers on LinkedIn, they should pop up right there.

If you get a comment from LinkedIn, it is part of the giveaway tool.

So if you were streaming to just LinkedIn, for example, then the winner will definitely be from LinkedIn.

It could just often be that other platforms might have more viewers or more people commenting with the hashtag.

There's also, I would guess this is not what you're seeing, but once in a while, well, some people on LinkedIn basically have changed the setting where you can't, you can't see their information outside of LinkedIn.

So in other words, in StreamRoute, we can't actually see who they are.

So in the chat on StreamRoute, you'll just see something that says LinkedIn user, just because we don't know who they are.

Those people are not entered in the draw just because there's no way of identifying who they actually are.

Not that many people have that setting on.

John says, will StreamYard have any festive themed backgrounds or motion background slash music?

Yeah, the marketing team generally does, along with the design team, release some fun assets for the holidays.

So the best place to find those, if you make sure you're part of the StreamYard Facebook group, if you just go to Facebook and type in StreamYard official community, it should pop right up and that's oftentimes where they'll share those assets.

Andrew says, you know, 1 of the reasons I joined Streamr was the lack of having to download an app for bringing guests on.

Yeah, definitely appreciate your note there, Andrew, and your feedback there.

So definitely want to make it clear that although the whole reason why we made the mobile experience was for folks that do just want to make sure they can get the best possible video quality and the best possible audio quality, but a huge part of why historically we never launched an app was for your exact reason.

We wanted to make it as easy as possible for anyone to join without having to download anything.

So if you want to use it on iOS without having to download an app, we're always going to support that.

And we're going to make the experience as good as we possibly can, but to overcome some of those limitations, we do want to give both options.

Adams Exploit says, great job, guys, with the app for iPhones, Mac computers, both.

And I believe the latest Mac computers actually do have access to the App Store, but we haven't tested it.

Yeah, it's definitely, in theory, I think you can install it on Mac, but it's definitely not optimized for it.

It is first and foremost for iOS, so iPhones and iPads.

Yeah, the best experience you'll get on a Mac is in the browser.
